Covenant
to Care: Helping Hands for Connecticut's Children
An interfaith ministry, Covenant
to Care is dedicated to improving the lives of Connecticut's
abused and neglected children through the acquisition and distribution
of community resources, mentoring, and foster and adoptive family
recruitment.
St. Catherine of Siena Parish
works to meet the needs of the social worker assigned to the
parish. Throughout the year we are involved in many outreach
projects; Back to School with backpacks and supplies, Thanksgiving
Baskets, Toiletry Drives Summer Toys, Christmas Presents, and
Baby Showers. We are also available to help supply our social
worker with items needed as they work to meet the day to day
needs of the abused and neglected children.

The Parish Nurse Program
at St. Vincent's Medical Center was developed in response to
their commitment of the effective use of health care resources
for the benefit of the community. The goal of the Parish Nurse
Program at St. Catherine of Siena is to promote the general
improvements of health and wellness for all parishioners. Health
related services such as health screening programs, educational
seminars, health literature and wellness programs are an important
part of the program. The Parish Nurse is also available to discuss
health concerns with parishioners and as a resource person to
assist parishioners in obtaining information and accessibility
to community services and resources. With the implementing of
these services, the Parish Nurse Program meets the emotional,
physical, and spiritual needs of the church members.
