Purpose and Responsibilities:

 

 

The primary purpose and responsibility of the Pastoral Planning Committee (PPC) is to focus on the well-being and future direction of the St. Catherine of Siena Parish Community. The PPC works closely with the Pastor and the Clergy in its leadership responsibility for shaping and guiding the overall mission and goals of the parish.

 

It accomplishes its goals and responsibilities by . . .

 

  • Working closely with the Pastor and the Clergy in establishing goals and objectives for the parish and setting priorities for implementation,

 

  • Ensuring that all existing and new parish programs promote the spiritual, educational and temporal well-being of the parish,

 

  • Supporting the start-up of new parish programs by assisting with program design, securing necessary approvals, and providing organization and resources until they are able to operate on their own,

 

  • Forming working committees of the Pastoral Planning Committee and linking all parish ministries and organizations to the PPC via designated liaisons selected from the PPC membership,

 

  • Encouraging and supporting all parish ministries and organizations, as it deems appropriate, in achieving their individual missions,

 

  • Coordinating and monitoring on-going parish activities to ensure they meet continuing parish needs,

 

  • Enhancing the coordination among the parish office, ministries and organizations in an effort to use all of the parish resources in the most effective and efficient manner,,

 

  • Communicating on-going parish activities and  encouraging proactive dialogue with the St. Catherine of Siena Parish Community,

 

  • Ensuring the proper development of ministry and organizational leaders and volunteers in the parish.
