St.
Catherine of Siena School in Trumbull, Connecticut is a member of the
Trumbull Monroe Regional School District of the Diocese of Bridgeport.
The school began its educational mission in 1965 under the guidance of
the School Sisters of Notre Dame whose order remains a vital and visible
element of the school to this day. Programs begin with preschool and include
grades kindergarten through eighth, and provide a foundation for academic,
spiritual, and social growth that allows for fulfillment as our students
move on in their education and in their lives. Superior standards of academic
excellence and a supportive climate instill in our students a lifelong
appreciation of learning. The school's mission is "to recognize the
potential of each child as a person of spirituality, a person of intelligence,
and a person of community and to assure each child the opportunity to
reach his or her full potential in order to provide him or her with the skills
and education needed for a successful life". A highly qualified faculty
joins a dedicated parish in fulfilling the school's mission. Academic
courses are supplemented by courses in the arts and extra curricular activities
that allow the natural curiosity of children to become a part of their
education. A very active student council gives students the opportunity
for input into their education and development of their leadership skills
as well as involvement in the community through service projects.
